Canada Express Entry

Canada is a country, with which people from different countries and backgrounds are familiar, due to the warmth the citizens show to immigrants and tourists.

Due to its growing economy, the people working in Canada have huge growth prospects and live a lavish lifestyle. The country invites many individuals every year from around the world to participate in their economy through their well-planned and designed immigration programs.

To facilitate the immigration process, the Express Entry System was launched.

The Express Entry system is an immigration system, which was implemented in January 2015 by the Canadian government as a means to select efficient and diligent skilled workers from different parts of the world for the varied needs of their economy in a faster and efficient way.

What is it?

It is important to note that this is a system used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and not an immigration program.

Who can apply?

Skilled and experienced workers as well as professionals from different fields who wish to leverage the opportunity of working in a blossoming economy of Canada and contribute to its growth can use this route to apply for permanent residence.

What is the use of this system?

With the help of an Express Entry system, visa applications lodged with Canadian government are managed properly. These applications are for permanent residence under the following three federal economic immigration programs:

1) The Federal Skilled Worker Program

2) The Federal Skilled Trades Program, and

3) The Canadian Experience Class

Advantages of this system:
How to proceed?
1. Assess your eligibility.

1) Take any one of the language tests approved by immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). For this, you have to register and schedule your test with an agency approved by IRCC.

2) If your education is from the country other than Canada, you have to get your educational credentials assessed against Canadian standards. This is known as Education Credential Assessment (ECA).

3) You have to find out the skill type, based on the job in which you hold the experience. And if you intend to do different kind of job in Canada, you need to find out the skill required in that as well.

You need to utilize Canada’s job classification system (the National Occupational Classification or NOC) to know whether your work experience is considered to be valid under any of the three federal economic immigration programs.

By doing this, you would come to know about the Job Code for the particular skill you possess. This code is known as “NOC Code”.

2. Create an Express Entry profile via online mode.

1.This is a formal expression of interest to work and settle in Canada.

2.By creating an account, you would provide information such as:

3.It is not necessary to submit all the details in one go. You can submit the information in phases as details entered once get saved on the online platform. Once you create the profile, you have the time of 90 days to complete the profile.

4.Those candidates who fulfil the criteria of any of the three aforementioned federal programs are placed in a pool of candidates. The candidates in this category are awarded ranks as per a Comprehensive Ranking System.

5.By this time, if you do not have a job offer from a Canadian employer or provincial nomination, you can register with Canada Job Bank by creating a Job Match account online and start looking for relevant job.

Receiving an invitation to apply.

1. The Canadian federal and provincial governments as well as Canadian employers review the profiles of the candidates from the Express Entry pool.

2. Those who have valid job offers or provincial nominations are invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

3. Those who do not have job offers or provincial nominations but have achieved significantly high scores in Comprehensive Ranking System are also invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

4. The provincial governments of Canada select the candidates from the Express Entry pool through Provincial Nominee Programs for fulfilling the needs of their local labour market.
